Christmas Inspiration For This Year

By: Chloe Ramsbottom

Every Christmas time we are all in the same boat, getting stressed at how many people we need to buy for, what to buy them, and of course trying not to miss anyone of the list.

However it doesn’t need to be stressful with careful preparation and thought. Starting your shopping early on isn’t the answer but it’s best not to leave it till the last minute either. If you take your time in finding out what your loved ones need in advance this will almost certainly help you get an idea of what to purchase them, failing that there are a collection of websites out there that do gift sets and give encouraging ideas that you can use.

From a personal view, I find keeping a few notes with data in very useful, so it might be worth just getting your hands on a notepad and recording what you have brought people within the last decade, so as not to repeat buy. With a well structured list of all the people you need to buy for, you can then begin to plan ideas next to each name and tick them off when you have purchased their gift.

The next thing to be conscious of is what you actually get them, try not to buy anything that may be insulting in some way. For example, if you are purchasing for a man that is over the age of 60 he could possibly get offended if you were to buy him a pair of rugby boots just because he enjoys the sport. Also if you are asked for something that is very specific, then get that and don’t get something that you will think is better, remember that is only your opinion and the recipient may not like it at all.

If you really have no idea what to buy then go for something neutral that you know will make someone happy such as a wine and spirit gift box or a chocolate gift set. If you do this, you are playing it safe.
